Original 7th Doctor items on eBay - December 2016

Looks like we have a new item that’s been sent to the Doctor Who breaker’s yard!

These pieces come from a destroyed Dalek base that appeared in a number of Bonhams auctions a few years ago.

Initially, at the Bonhams auction - 23rd June 2010 it was attributed as made for exhibition purposes, and sold for £720. I wondered if it was from Resurrection Of The Daleks, hence I filed it under my Fifth Doctor blog.

By Bonhams auction - 18th December 2013 it had been identified as being the remains of a Dalek seen in the Totter’s Lane junk yard for scenes in Remembrance Of The Daleks. With a reserve of up to £5,000, it went unsold.

Now pieces of this Dalek are appearing on eBay.

Remembrance Of The Daleks

In my photos shows the original screen-used dalek from which the Gore came from. Please see photos with red circle to identify your piece.

The Dalek skirt section was seen at various exhibitions after the broadcast including Longleat, Dapol and Blackpool.

Original 7th Doctor items on eBay - February 2016

Oh dear - another bit has dropped of a Tetrap somewhere. Still, there’s always eBay!

Time And The Rani
Tetrap arm
SOLD for £74

Original Doctor Who prop - Tetrap arm - screen used - from Bonhams - amazing!
With Certificate of Authenticity

This is an unbelievable piece for all Dr Who fans.

Any props from the original series of Dr Who are rare, but a piece of the doctor's costume is astounding!

This is an original dr who screen used monster prop / costume piece from the first Sylvester McCoy story in season 24 "Time and the Rani"

I have seen and sold a couple of smaller items, pieces of fur, digits, but this is the whole forearm of a screen used Rani. As only 3 full costumes were made and only one survives in full, this is an amazing piece.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and is brought to you with no reserve.

The piece is presented in a 3D display box frame and comes with a certifcate of authenticity confirming its purchase from bonhams.

Original 7th Doctor items on eBay -
January 2016

I see some loose bits have dropped off the original Tetrap costume again.

Time And The Rani
framed Tetrap fragment
This is an amazing opportunity

There were just three of these tetrap costumes made for the 1987 story 'time and the rani'.

As with many costumes of the day, they have deteriorated. This is from one of these original screen used costumes sold in the famous bonhams auction.

I have seen small pieces of tetrap skin sell for £50-100 over the years on ebay but never such a large piece - this digit is in great condition and has been framed in a box frame - only three digits and I am keeping one!

It is supplied with a copy of the letter of authenticity and is s once in a lifetime auction!

Survival - Sabre-tooth prop
This is a prop sabre-tooth knife, used by Mitch in Survival, the final story of classic Doctor Who, in 1989. It's a lightweight version, as it had to be used as a weapon that wouldn't hurt anyone. It is the prop that appeared on screen.

It's in excellent condition; it's about 30 cm / 1 foot long.

It's been donated to us by Mike Tucker, the BAFTA award winning special effects designer, who's worked on Doctor Who since the 1980s. We're extremely grateful to Mr Tucker for his most generous gift.

Dragonfire
prop gun

Meanwhile, someone is selling of their script collection on eBay this month, and here are the times relating to the Seventh Doctor.

Strange Matter (Time And The Rani)
Episode 4 rehearsal script
SOLD FOR £50

Listed is a original BBC Doctor Who Script once owned by the late producer John Nathan Turner.

The Rehearsal script is entitled Strange Matter, episode four, and was the original working title before changed to the now familiar Time and the Rani (Dated : 24.3.87) starring Sylvester McCoy as the 7th Doctor. The item is in very good order, although shows slight pin rust, and is fragile being 28yrs old. So take this into consideration.

The item was kept by John in a filing cabinet for many years until his sad passing, then sold by his friend TV presenter Stephen Cranford who provided a signed letter of provenance which accompanies this great collectors item whoever wins this.

Original 7th Doctor item on eBay - June 2015

This looks familiar!
I’m guessing whoever bought this back in June of 2014 has either got bored of it or finds it gets in the way!

Original 7th Doctor item on eBay -
May 2015

This is a curious item, mainly cos it just doesn’t seem to want to sell!

It’s been listed a number of times, at progressively reduced prices.

This looks to be it’s last listing

Silver Nemesis Cyberman gun
UNSOLD for £2,349

This is the last time I shall be reducing the price of this item. I would rather keep it than reduce it any further :-)

Here we have a real piece of Doctor Who history, an original, screen-used Cyberman gun from the 1988, 25th anniversary story, Silver Nemesis.

This prop is really quite something. It is one of only 2 or 3 complete Cyber-guns that remain out of the original 8 that were made for the story. It is also very rare to see an original Nemesis prop that hasn't been re-sprayed (most remaining Nemesis props were re-sprayed for use in museums and exhibitions etc.) This prop is completely 'as it was'. I'm sure everyone knows about the golden brown colouring of the original Nemesis props, but if not, here goes:

All original Nemesis props (Cyberman helmets, chest-plates and guns) were chrome-plated. During filming, they were sprayed with a lacquer, to make them extra shiny on camera. This lacquer reacted with the chrome, and changed the colour of the props into a beautiful golden colour.

The gun is in absolutely mint condition, no damage whatsoever. Absolutely amazing condition for a prop that is almost 26 years old.

I acquired this gun directly from Jamie Smyth, arguably the biggest dealer of original Doctor Who props in the world. Before me, Jamie obtained the gun from a chap quite well known in the Doctor Who fanbase, Chris Balcombe. Chris also had this gun checked over by Mike Tucker, who made all the original guns for the BBC back in1988.

The gun also comes with a custom-made display case which I had specially made for the gun. This is an absolutely cracking prop, it is very well made out of various materials including steel and fibre glass. It is very very sturdy, not a feeble piece of rubbish which is all too synonymous with original Doctor Who props. The gun consists of all it's original parts, including the original screws, which have also been chromed!

I've tried to keep it as simple as possible but if you do have any questions, please don't hesitate to message me.

Original 7th Doctor items on eBay -
March 2015

There was a bit of a trade in Silurian body parts last year - it seems Tetraps are in this year!

‎Time And The Rani Tetrap Hand
WITHDRAWN from sale

Original prop / costume from Sylvester McCoy's debut Doctor Who story: Time and the Rani, September 1987

Bought from the Bonhams Doctor Who auction 2010 part of lot 89. A Tetrap costume.

The Tetraps were the hired bat like thugs used to enforce the Rani's will as she terrorised the planet Lakertya.

The inside of the claw is inscribed 'Urak' being the chief Tetrap.
This claw could be one of the last things to touch the Sixth Doctor / first to touch the Seventh in the famous Regeneration scene.

Moulded and painted latex, with faux fur, and even part of the leather wings.

Incredibly rare item.

On eBay recently I’ve spied a couple of Dalek and Cybermen body parts!

Remembrance Of The Daleks - Dalek gun

IT WAS AUCTIONED BY DOCTOR WHO PRODUCER, JOHN NATHAN-TURNER AND THE DOCTOR WHO APPRECIATION SOCIETY IN 1989 DURING THE "A DAY AT THE FORUM" CONVENTION. Original 7th Doctor item on eBay -
June 2014

It’s funny sometimes what turns up on eBay.
This month an item from the 2010 Bonhams Doctor Who auction is up for sale.

It sold for £180 back in 2010, and resold here for £565.55.

Time And The Rani
The Time Brain

SOLD FOR £565.55

Here is the sale of one of my original props that I purchased at the Bonham's Doctor Who auction in 2010.

This is the Time Brain from the 7th Doctor story Time and the Rani. This was Sylvester McCoy's first story and also starred Kate O'Mara way back in 1987.

This large brain was the centre piece of the story. It is a moulded fibreglass piece that has various pipes and veins on it. The brain was then painted with latex. Under the latex there were several plastic bags placed that were connected to pipes.

The pipes were connected to an air supply (probably a small compressor or similar) which would be used to inflate the bags to give the illusion of the brain pulsating. Inside the brain there are four spot lights and provision for a fluorescent tube although this is missing. The spots work and are wired to a standard 3 pin UK plug (240v)

Over the years and with the heat from the spot lights the latex has largely perished, the plastic bags are still in place, but only in pieces. The main air hoses are still there but I haven't traced them to see if they are still connected to each other.

Some of the veins are also missing. Overall this is in good condition considering it is a 27 year old original screen used prop. Bearing in mind the nature of props, the fact that it would have spent most of its life under lights in the various exhibitions and the general ability of the BBC to care for their props it is a wonder this has survived at all!!

This is the extract from Bonham's catalogue. I will endeavour to upload a scan of the original catalogue page tomorrow (a copy of the page will be included in the auction) -

Tetraps on eBay!

This week on eBay I spotted part of an original Tetrap costume from Time And The Rani.

The torso with part legs and arms was original sold at the 2010 Bonhams Auction, but is sadly missing a head.

Well, it just so happens a Tetrap head is also for sale - though this is a replica which may or may not have been displayed at exhibitions.

Time And The Rani
Tetrap Body
UNSOLD

Lot 89 at the Bonhams 2010 Doctor Who Auction Time and the Rani, September 1987 An original Tetrap costume.

The Tetraps were the bat-pig-bear hired heavies working for the villainous Rani as she terrorised the planet of Lakertya.

This costume is in excellent condition considering it is over 27 years old. It look like it is fresh from the set of Sylvester McCoy's debut story.

There are very few signs of degrading. The actual base of the costume is a one piece fabric body suit decorated in goat's fur.

The wings too are in very good condition. They are made of real leather, ribbed with a skeletal piping.

The chest and stomach are made from foam latex. After much research I have discovered that this costume was for many years exhibited at the MOMI Doctor Who exhibition at London's South Bank, hence the superb quality. Good luck and thanks for bidding.

February 2014

I found this item for sale on eBay.

Curse of Fenric Haemovore Skin with display card
Here is a great chance to own a piece of an original screen used costume.

This piece of skin comes from an original Haemovore costume sold at the famous Bonhams auction of February 2010. This piece of skin was carefully removed from the rest of the costume after it became loose. Complete with a display card its a must for all Dr. Who fans. I had planned to get this framed, but I do not have the time. When framed it would look stunning.

The skin is 100% guaranteed original.
